The new hub of Zagreb’s urban scene, the Zonar Zagreb Hotel, opened its doors offering guests a unique experience of connecting with people and the city. Previously known as the Panorama Hotel, Zonar’s opening is a culmination of a thorough and impressive renovation project which transformed the hotel’s interior thanks to the efforts and synergy of the architects from Studio UP and the versatile artist Silvio Vujičić. In addition to 299 meticulously designed and well-appointed rooms and suites, the striking interior is accompanied by equally interesting and diverse facilities. With two restaurants, a bar, a deli shop, a swimming pool on the roof with a panoramic view of Zagreb, a gym, and nine multipurpose conference rooms, the facilities offer real opportunities for socialising, conducting business meetings, or enjoying entertainment and special culinary events.
Zonar Zagreb’s contemporary architectural solution and design were inspired by postmodern architecture and the urban lifestyle characterised by the dynamism of movement. Its renovation concept was designed by the architects of Zagreb’s renowned Studio UP, which has won numerous awards in the field of modern architecture and urbanism.
“Hotels are an opportunity to imagine the future and new realities, considering that what we are dealing with is a complex infrastructure which supports and shapes positive emotions. When we started working on the Zonar Zagreb Hotel, we approached it as a one-off, unique task because we don’t do routine when it comes to developing concepts.” – said Lea Pelivan, architect and co-founder of Studio UP.
Zonar Zagreb, along with Hotel Jadran and Hotel International, is part of the Maistra City Vibes brand of hotels designed for a truly relaxing stay in Zagreb, a city that combines the fast-paced Central European business mentality and the laid-back approach of the Mediterranean. With the opening of Zonar Zagreb, guests are given a chance to relax, rejuvenate their body and soul, and enjoy a unique regeneration zone inspired by the Downtown Athletic Club in New York and stylishly elevated by the artworks of Silvio Vujičić.
“The well-oiled and successful collaboration with architects from Studio UP brings Hotel Zonar Zagreb a truly specific atmosphere. Fascinated by transformations and processes, I approach each project like a researcher, bringing my knowledge of materials, history, botany, chemistry, and art, and the recently completed creative solutions in the new hotel on Zagreb’s Trešnjevka will definitely motivate observers – hotel guests, to embark on a journey of reflection and discovery.” – added designer and artist Silvio Vujičić.
Fabular, the award-winning branding agency, is behind the new brand strategy, the name Zonar Zagreb, as well as the slogan “The Earth Never Stops Moving, Neither Should You” while the visual identity of the hotel was designed by the Bruketa&Žinić&Grey agency, inspired by constant movement as a hotel concept.
Adris Group’s total investments in the tourism part of its portfolio will reach EUR 500 million by 2025, of which EUR 30 million has been allocated for the reconstruction of the Zonar Zagreb hotel. “With this hotel, which brings a new experience of city hotels to Zagreb, Maistra puts its stamp on the tourism sector of this destination. We will continue investing in the renovation of other Zagreb hotels from our portfolio, and we plan to invest an additional 110 million euros by 2025.”, – said Tomislav Popović, Chairman of the Management Board of Maistra.
One of Croatia’s biggest investors in tourism thus continues its streak of successful high-quality developments, which is why the Zonar Zagreb Hotel is guided at all levels by the needs of guests, but also of all the people of Zagreb who want to experience something creative and unconventional.
With that in mind, the hotel will house the Skinny Pig restaurant, with dishes divided into four elaborate nutritional menus (Energy, Carb-free, Fitness, and Sin), the Skinny Pig Steaks restaurant with a terrace, serving top quality fish and meat steaks, and the unique Cherry Pop Bar with a swimming pool on the hotel’s rooftop. The striking takeout store Official Salmon Deli, instead of the usual high-calorie takeout fare, brings real refreshment to the Zagreb food delivery scene with special delicacies and creative fish-based dishes. The Skin2Skin hotel bar is preparing several themed events.
“We are witness to the fact that the culinary experience is increasingly becoming one of the most important reasons why guests choose to visit a destination. The world’s most renowned hotels have made a name for themselves through amazing food, which is why we will provide our guests with only the highest quality options accompanied by an unforgettable experience and atmosphere.” – elaborated Jeffrey J Vella, Maistra’s F&B manager who designed the hotel’s new gourmet concept.
