Go for a walk along the city walls, visit the Maritime Museum, and stop by the Renaissance summer villas in the area. Sail to the nearby Elaphiti Islands, then return and take a deep breath to the sound of the sea at Buža, stop on Stradun and explore the amazing local cuisine on the corners of the narrow streets and steps of Dubrovnik.

This unique fortress town is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List and offers a flourishing gastronomic and cultural scene, plenty of romantic places, as well as entertainment venues, providing its visitors with a magical experience of this extraordinary city.
Top 10 Experiences Dubrovnik Has to Offer
Explore the city walls on foot

There is hardly a text about Dubrovnik that fails to mention its famously spectacular defensive stone walls. The walls and bastions surround the city and provide a breathtaking view of the Adriatic Sea and the nearby islands. We believe that this is reason enough for you to head straight for the walls in search of new experiences following a busy day of swimming and sunbathing at the beach.
Old City of Dubrovnik

The panoramic aerial shot of Dubrovnik is the one image would-be visitors most frequently get to see on postcards or in magazines. However, zooming in to ground level gives us a glimpse of where the city’s true charm is jealously hidden. The stone-paved narrow alleys, tucked behind towering bastions and teeming with boutiques, restaurants, galleries, and coffee shops, reveal the city’s storied centuries-old history step by step.
Coffee on Stradun

Go for a walk down Stradun, the Old City’s central pedestrian street lined with elegant historic buildings, restaurants, and quaint stores. Stradun, the charming heart of Dubrovnik’s social and cultural life, will surely win your hearts, too.
Fort Lovrjenac

“Liberty is not for sale, not even for all the gold of this world” is the inscription carved above the entrance to this impressive Dubrovnik fortress. Of course, you will have the liberty to go inside and explore every nook and cranny of the fascinating tower protected by thick walls and perched atop a steep cliff, which earned the fortress the moniker of “Dubrovnik’s Gibraltar”.
Experience the blockbusters first-hand

Dubrovnik is a world-famous destination and the real-life setting of numerous blockbusters and hit TV shows, including Star Wars and Game of Thrones. Go on a tour where you will experience first-hand all the locations where world-famous actors used to hang out.
Island of Lokrum

Located a mere 600 m from the walls of Dubrovnik, you will find the island of Lokrum. Due to its strategic position, it is home to a historical fortress built during the Napoleon era. Other landmarks include a Benedictine monastery and a botanical garden, and the island itself is characterised by a more laid-back experience in relation to the lively Stradun and the town centre of Dubrovnik.
Dubrovnik Cathedral

The Assumption Cathedral was built on the site of the old Romanesque Byzantine church which was largely destroyed in the 1667 earthquake that devastated Dubrovnik. The cathedral grounds also include a reliquary that contains priceless artefacts from Dubrovnik’s history.
Rector’s Palace

As the name suggests, the Rector’s Palace is a palace that served as the home of the ruler of the Republic of Ragusa. Today, the Rector’s Palace houses the Dubrovnik Cultural History Museum, and its atrium is used for concerts and cultural and entertainment programmes.
Set sail for the Elaphiti Islands

Interestingly, the Elaphiti Islands were named after deer, even though they can no longer be found on the islands today. For that reason, the locals sometimes call them Jelenski otoci, meaning Deer Archipelago. This small archipelago consists of twelve islands and islets, which in ancient times fascinated the great ancient writer and scholar Pliny. Set sail for the islands and discover the beauty and unique charm that enchanted great men of history.
Climb the Srđ mountain

This four-hundred-metre-high hill above Dubrovnik has defended it from would-be conquerors many times throughout history. Today, Srđ conquers the hearts and minds of visitors with its view of Dubrovnik and the Adriatic Sea. All the stunning photos you will take at the top will inspire you to create a photo book, and we definitely recommend dinner at the restaurant on the hillside.
